Black Friday 2026 Dates: When Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Costco and Amazon Sales Start

Black Friday 2026 is Friday, Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 26), and Cyber Monday is Nov. 30. But the sales start much sooner. Lowe’s began its Black Friday deals on Oct. 29, Best Buy and Costco kick off on Oct. 30, Target’s Deal of the Day starts Nov. 1, and Walmart’s first Black Friday event opens Nov. 12. Amazon is the big holdout: it hasn’t announced its Black Friday Week dates yet.

Here is every date the major retailers have confirmed so far, pulled from their own announcements and from coverage by USA Today, Today and Slickdeals, plus a few tips for getting the real deals instead of the noise.

Black Friday 2026 start dates at a glance

  • Lowe’s: Black Friday deals started Oct. 29; 12 Days of Deals from Nov. 16; Doorbusters Nov. 27 (members online a day early).
  • Best Buy: DoorBOOsters Oct. 30; Early Black Friday Nov. 6; Black Friday deals Nov. 19 to 28; Cyber Week Dec. 1 to 6.
  • Costco: Holiday savings Oct. 30 to Nov. 30 in waves; online-only deals on Thanksgiving; Black Friday weekend Nov. 27 to 30.
  • Target: Deal of the Day Nov. 1 to Dec. 24; Early Black Friday Nov. 5 to 7; new offers every weekend.
  • Walmart: Early Black Friday Nov. 12 to 15; Black Friday Nov. 23 to 29; Cyber Monday online Nov. 30 to Dec. 2.
  • Amazon: Not announced yet.

Walmart Black Friday 2026: three events

Walmart announced its holiday calendar on Oct. 26, and it’s split into three events:

  • Early Black Friday Deals, Nov. 12 to 15: online at Walmart.com from 12:01 a.m. ET on Nov. 12, and in stores from 6 a.m. local time.
  • Black Friday Deals, Nov. 23 to 29: online from 12:01 a.m. ET on Nov. 23 and in stores from 6 a.m. local time.
  • Cyber Monday, Nov. 30 to Dec. 2: online only, starting 12:01 a.m. ET on Nov. 30.

Walmart+ members get early access to the “hot Deal drops” at the start of each of the first two events, and some online-only deals are reserved for members for the first 24 hours. Anything left opens to everyone the next day. Walmart also says it now sells Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus together for $120 a year.

Target Black Friday 2026: Deal of the Day starts Nov. 1

Target’s holiday sales start with a Deal of the Day on Nov. 1, with a new deal every day through Dec. 24. New this year, Target will show a one-day preview of the next day’s offer so you can plan ahead. Its Early Black Friday sale runs Nov. 5 to 7, followed by new limited-time offers every weekend of the season, USA Today reports.

Target says it has more than 8,000 new holiday gifts, with thousands priced at $5 or less, plus pajamas from $10 and 100% cashmere starting at $25. It hasn’t released its main Black Friday ad or its Thanksgiving and Black Friday store hours yet.

Best Buy Black Friday 2026: starts this Friday

Best Buy published its holiday calendar on Oct. 27:

  • DoorBOOsters: starting Friday, Oct. 30.
  • Early Black Friday Deals and Doorbusters: from Nov. 6, with new deals every Friday.
  • Black Friday Doorbusters and Deals: 10 days, from Nov. 19 to Nov. 28.
  • Cyber Sunday and Monday: Nov. 29 and 30, then Cyber Week deals Dec. 1 to 6.
  • Last-Minute Savings: Dec. 18 to 24.

Two perks worth knowing: Best Buy’s Holiday Price Match Guarantee covers price drops on Best Buy items during the season, and most purchases made Oct. 30 through Dec. 31 can be returned until Jan. 15, 2027 (Jan. 31 for My Best Buy Plus and Total members). Plus and Total members also earn double rewards from Nov. 19 to Dec. 6. Best Buy stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Costco Black Friday 2026: Oct. 30 to Nov. 30

Costco’s holiday savings run Oct. 30 through Nov. 30, but in overlapping waves rather than one big drop, according to Slickdeals’ breakdown of the ad. The first wave is valid Oct. 30 to Nov. 15, the largest wave runs Nov. 16 to 30, the Black Friday weekend wave covers Nov. 27 to 30, and there’s a final online-only set on Cyber Monday.

Costco warehouses are closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, but Costco.com will have online-only Thanksgiving Day deals. Because each Costco deal carries its own dates, check the dates printed on the item you want, not just the start of the sale. If you buy early and the price drops, Costco’s price adjustment policy covers drops within 30 days of purchase.

Lowe’s Black Friday 2026: already underway

Lowe’s started four weeks of Black Friday deals on Oct. 29 across tools, holiday decor, appliances and outdoor power equipment. Its schedule from here:

  • 12 Days of Deals: starting Nov. 16 (expanded from last year’s 10 days).
  • Thanksgiving week: Lowe’s says its biggest Black Friday savings arrive that week.
  • Black Friday Doorbusters: Nov. 27 for everyone, with MyLowe’s Rewards members getting online access one day earlier.
  • December Deal Drops: Dec. 3 to 24.

Lowe’s stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, though online-only deals stay available.

When will Amazon announce Black Friday 2026?

Amazon hasn’t announced its 2026 Black Friday Week yet. Its official Black Friday page only says the event is “almost here.” In 2025, Amazon’s Black Friday sale ran Nov. 20 to Dec. 1 and was announced in mid-November, so 9to5Amazon expects a similar announcement around Nov. 10 to 17 and a start around Nov. 19. That’s an estimate, not a confirmed date, so be wary of any site claiming Amazon’s 2026 Black Friday sale is already live.

Which stores are closed on Thanksgiving 2026?

Among the retailers that have said so, Best Buy, Costco and Lowe’s stores will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, while still running online deals. Walmart and Target haven’t published Thanksgiving or Black Friday store hours in their announcements so far. Both have kept stores closed on Thanksgiving in recent years, but check your local store page closer to the holiday.

How to actually save during the 2026 Black Friday season

Shop the early events, but compare prices

With sales starting four weeks early, the “Black Friday” label alone doesn’t mean a price is low. Check an item’s price history on a deal or price-tracking site before buying, and compare model numbers, especially on TVs, where warehouse and big-box versions often have their own model suffix.

Use price-match and price-adjustment policies

Best Buy’s Holiday Price Match Guarantee and Costco’s 30-day price adjustment mean buying early isn’t a gamble at those stores. Keep your receipt and check back if the item drops later in November.

Decide whether a membership pays for itself

Walmart+, Target Circle 360, My Best Buy Plus and Total, and MyLowe’s Rewards all get early access to some deals this year. If you only plan one or two purchases, a paid membership may cost more than you’d save, but free loyalty programs are usually worth joining.

Mind the extras

Big-ticket items aren’t the only holiday cost this year. If you’re traveling, holiday airfares are at a 10-year high, so book early. And if a new smart TV is on your list, it’s worth knowing how to turn off smart TV tracking before you set it up.
